I haven’t had the headspace to update on Molly it has been a tough 7 Months to witness. It will take a while for me to unpack the updates, changes to medication, meetings etc. but I will give it my best shot soon.

I wanted to say the most recent changes to her medications relating to both her mental and physical health have brought about a breakthrough 👏👏👏👏👏 I don’t want to speak too soon as it feels unreal and too good to be true.

At the weekend she was less sad, she spoke more, she had a dry bed, and today she went to the dentist after several months of missed appointments. She hasn’t resumed attending day services however but it is literally one day at a time.

You will see how this feels like a breakthrough to me when I document the last 7 months.

Perhaps happiness isn’t something we find at the end of the journey. Perhaps it’s hidden in the ordinary moments we so often overlook. This year has reminded me to notice them again.

Recovery isn’t always dramatic. Sometimes it looks like a smile. A clean bed. A dentist appointment. A walk.”
