Molly was so brave today 09.09.24

We were blessed today, Molly showed courage and strength!

Sliding doors comes to mind, we were in the procedure room when she shouted “leave me alone” she refused having the cannula put in so she couldn’t have the sedation prior to the endoscopy. I was gutted.

We left the department, I kept calm and explained that we wouldn’t be able to go to Foxes cafe for pancakes after all, suddenly it was back on….We ran back in and I shouted “ she will let you do it”, the nurses found the Consultant and he put us in a small waiting room, they fetched in what they needed to fit the cannula. Once in, we went straight into the procedure room and she got straight on the bed holding tightly to her iPad listening to Leona Lewis. They put in the sedation and we waited and waited and waited for her to drop off , she resisted and held on for dear life to her iPad. A little more sedation… and she let go.

We then had to prize her teeth open to place an object for the camera to go down. Once she was rolled onto her side they proceeded, I watched the whole thing, I saw the old clip from her previous bleed, there was some food that they wouldn’t normally of expected to see as she hadn’t eaten since yesterday evening. A few biopsies taken and just like that it was over.

Nothing sinister seen or any concerns raised at this stage.

Good news, but the question remains “why is she sick?”

Now let me see…..

So so proud of Molly! she was so brave, although touch and go initially she did it!

A few hours later she enjoyed her pancakes with bacon and maple syrup at Foxes.

Back to Mental Health we go – this result only reinforces my concerns over the prescribing of antipsychotics.
